What is the Healthy Woman Program?
Adagio Health is the statewide administrator of the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Healthy Woman Program which focuses on early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
Adagio Health is the sole provider of Healthy Woman programs for more than twenty counties of western Pennsylvania. Through HealthyWoman, eligible women can receive free breast and cervical cancer screening.
As a companion to Healthy Woman, Adagio Health also offers clients a cardiovascular health program called WISEWOMAN.
(Well-Integrated Screening and Evaluation for Women Across the Nation) at selected locations. WISEWOMAN targets low-income, underinsured or uninsured, women ages 40 to 64 and provides them with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to improve their diet, physical activity and other life habits to prevent, delay, or control cardiovascular and other chronic diseases.
A proud partner of Susan G. Komen Pittsburgh, Adagio Health administers Komen Pittsburgh’s 34-county Mammogram Voucher Program which provides mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women. Komen's Mammogram Voucher Program (MVP) became a partner, providing additional resources for:
Screening mammograms for all women 40 and over who cannot afford them
Diagnostic services for all women in the program identified with breast abnormalities
Educational forums about breast health to be provided throughout the region
Access to the Internet through the Breast Cancer Information Service (BCIS)
Opportunity to participate in Pennsylvania's largest foot race — the Mother's Day 5K in Pittsburgh
In addition to cancer screening, Adagio Health sites provide follow-up and referral.
